PJ Sportswear, LLC was originally established in 2007 as a side business while owner John Hochstetler continued working at the Joint Systems Manufacturing Center in Lima, Ohio making and testing Abrams Tanks for the United States Army. John's passion was to own and operate a sign and screenprinting business delivering quality items at unbeatable prices to the public. John and his wife, Chris, who were both employed at the Tank Plant, continued their careers while also being parents, grandparents, and business owners. What started as a side business quickly became a full-time job for the Hochstetlers. In 2011, John retired from the Tank Plant and began working full-time for himself doing screenprinting and signs. Their screenprinting business boomed and their client base was strong completing jobs for Bluffton Schools, Honda Transmission Plant, Apollo Career Center, Ineos, and Elida Youth Football among many, many others. Chris retired in 2015 and together they owned and operated their screenprinting business until the work got to be too much for just the two of them. In 2019, after 12 successful years in business, John and Chris sold their screenprinting operation but the desire to one day start another business always lingered. In 2024, after a five year hiatus, they decided it was time to reopen their doors under their new name, PJ Sportswear, LLC. Together, with the help of their children and their spouses, PJ Sportswear, LLC will once again be operating under the core values that John had envisioned when he opened his doors back in 2007, "Quality Apparel at Unbeatable Prices."
PJ Sportswear, LLC got its name from John's grandchildren who affectionately refer to him as "Papa John" or "PJ" for short.
At PJ Sportswear, we started screenprinting as our original apparel printing process. Screenprinting is a process that presses ink onto the fabric and is then dried until cured. Screenprinting is an ideal option for apparel with limited color combinations and for larger orders.
PJ Sportswear has added a Direct-To-Film machine to our operation. With a DTF machine, we can create incredible designs for any circumstance. Unlike screenprinting, DTF applications can be done in small or large quantities. Some say Direct-To-Film is the future of apparel printing.
At PJ Sportswear, we offer embroidery services. Embroidery can be added to any number of items such as shirts, jackets and hats. Embroidery is the process of stitching words, logos or designs into the fabric of the apparel.
